Many years ago my husband was offered a position to work in Europe – so we moved to Brussels, Belgium which is where the travel bug was first ignited in me! Since then, I’ve visited over 20 countries traveling as a couple, with groups of friends or with our 3 children who are now young adults. My family are very adventurous travelers and I’m always up for the excitement so long as they give me a beach vacation every once in a while! Jim and I are recent empty nesters and have filled our free time with even more travel than ever before. I believe travel is what will help keep us feeling young (ish) and interested in the world around us as well as interesting to each other!
My personal strengths I bring to your travel experience are extreme attention to detail, my travel planning expertise and knowledge, along with truly caring for our clients and their journey from start to finish.
Far and away my favorite trip I’ve taken was our trip to South Africa in the fall of 2021. It was my first time to South Africa and my first time to go on safari and it honestly changed my life. I had tears several times during the trip. We started out in Cape Town and I loved it! There is so much to see and do there – there’s amazing food, great wine, the coastal area, and the incredibly rich history. And the people were some of the nicest I have met anywhere! After Cape Town we headed to the greater Kruger area to two different private game reserves for some of the most incredible game viewing – it was simply amazing. People often say a safari is a once in a lifetime trip but I can’t wait until the next time I can head back to explore a new African country.
My second favorite trip was a surprise to me – Antarctica! We took an expedition cruise to Antarctica in January 2023 and I honestly did not expect to enjoy it as something like this had not really been on my “bucket list.” I was really doing it for my husband as he had been to the other six continents so this trip would check that seventh continent box for him. But I ended up loving it so much! The whole experience was actually very much like a safari and I felt just as emotional about the vast frozen landscape and the up close encounters with wildlife as I had about our safari experience. Plus the other travelers we met on the cruise were such interesting, well-traveled people with so many great stories to tell. We have remained in contact with several of the people we met and count them among our friends.
