Paige de Herder joined Private Journeys after a career in finance, bringing a strong background in client service, operations, and business development. She works closely with founder Diane Terry on the company’s luxury travel programming and continued growth, supporting Private Journeys’ longstanding expertise in African safaris, small group travel, Women’s Adventures, and highly curated personal journeys.
A graduate of the French Culinary Institute in New York and currently pursuing sommelier studies, Paige is also helping expand the company’s food and wine travel offerings, particularly in Italy and France. Her approach is thoughtful, detail-oriented, and rooted in creating seamless, highly personal travel experiences.
Growing up with my mother in the travel business, I was fortunate to be exposed to extraordinary places from an early age. Some of my most memorable journeys include adventure travel in Fiji, hiking with gorillas in Rwanda, running down dunes in the Atacama Desert, evenings under lanterns in Morocco, safari sundowners across Africa, an asado in Argentina, scouting trips to Laos, a wedding celebration in India, and a camper van trip around Iceland with my now-husband.
More recently, traveling with family through wine regions such as Piedmont, Burgundy, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape has been especially meaningful. Learning about where the wines come from, meeting the people behind them, and experiencing each region through its food, landscape, and traditions has deepened my appreciation for travel that is both personal and rooted in place.
I am excited for this new chapter with Private Journeys and for the adventures ahead.
