Traveling the world has been my passion since I was a child. When I was five years old, my family moved to Norway for a year, where we lived in Stavanger. That was my first exposure to different people, cultures, food, art, and skiing. We traveled around Norway and Sweden with my parents and siblings, and I have fond memories of those trips. They sparked my love for travel at an early age. After graduating from the University of Texas, I backpacked across Europe for six weeks with a friend. That was when I realized how much travel can enrich someone’s life, whether they travel alone, with family, or with friends. There was something magical about exploring new places, meeting new people, and having new adventures.
I have never stopped traveling since then. I have taken many trips with my children, who started traveling with me when they were very young. I think it is very important to expose children to different places and cultures from an early age. It is also a joy to travel with them as adults. I enjoy planning trips for family and friends, and I travel a lot with my adult children now. Traveling with loved ones creates shared memories, strengthens bonds, and allows us to connect, learn, and grow together. And of course, it is just FUN to travel with the people who matter most to you.
I have a varied professional background that includes retail management, interior design, event planning, and personal/group fitness. All of these professions involved connecting people with the world around them through fashion, design, food and wine, experiences, and health. My passion for travel and my desire to connect people with experiences led me to join Departure Lounge as a travel advisor last year.
I would love to help you plan your dream trips, big or small, and whatever ignites your soul. I truly believe that travel can open our eyes to new places, cultures, and perspectives, and also challenge us to step out of our comfort zones. This leads to a richer and more fulfilling life.
