Meet Travel Advisor Hans Paap

I’ve been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years.  I graduated from Johnston & Wales University’s Culinary School and headed down to St. John where I added Chef de Cuisine and Scuba Dive Master to my resume. 

Today I’m based in Chicago and specialize in custom luxury travel and small-medium sized business group retreats and incentive trips. 

One of the things I love best about travel is trying new foods. As a former chef, food is important to me.  Wherever I travel, I seek out local flavors and explore markets; you’ll just as easily catch me eating a multicourse meal at a posh restaurant as eating at a roadside stand with a crowd. 

My top travel tip is to smile. The smile is a universal gift and signal of hospitality. A smile to a stranger can start a conversation and unlock many wonders of your destination.
