My passion for travel began when I lived and studied abroad in Seville, Spain when I was just 21 years old. During my semester abroad, I traveled throughout Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, followed by a mini tour through other European countries after my program ended. I came home with a thirst to continue my travels. After spending the first part of my career as an immigration lawyer and taking every opportunity to travel with my husband and three children, I decided to hang up my law license and pursue my passion by helping others plan their travels.
My approach when working with a client involves conducting a thorough interview and take the time to get to know you, your travel style, priorities and wish-lists. I invest time in understanding your desires and expectations, allowing me to create personalized travel plans that will evolve with you over the years. The experiences and memories you gain from travel are invaluable and can profoundly impact your outlook on life. My goal is to ensure that each journey is uniquely memorable and enriching for you and your family.
Unlike the traditional model of travel agents who work out of a small office and strictly book hotels and flights, as a travel designer, I can handle all aspects of your travel, from start to finish. I ensure that every detail is meticulously planned by utilizing the amazing network of fellow Departure Lounge advisors, where necessary, and top-notch partners available to me who will offer 24/7 in-country customer support for the duration of your trip. Recognizing that travel is an investment, and your time is precious, my goal is always to ensure that your trips are as seamless, enriching, memorable and perfectly tailored to you and your travel companions.
My favorite trips are often the most recent destinations that I have visited, as each journey tends to build upon the last. I return home wondering if I can surpass the previous vacation I planned. Perhaps, this is because, with every trip, I learn more about my and my family’s travel preferences. Each experience refines my understanding of what makes a trip truly special for us, allowing me to plan even more enjoyable adventures in the future. This continuous learning and growth keep my passion for travel alive and vibrant.
At the same time, my family’s interests have evolved over the years, especially as my children have grown. The trips we take today are quite different from those that we took when they were younger, making it difficult to compare one to the next. This evolution keeps our travel experiences fresh and exciting, continually shaping how we explore the world together.
It is also challenging for me to select my favorite trip, as they all have been incredible, yet varied. From chartering a sailboat around the isolated islands and charming seaside towns along the Turquoise Coast in Turkey, to tiptoeing through the high tides along the beach in Sifnos, Greece on our way to dining at a taverna on a delicious homemade meal prepared by the waiter’s mother, to watching a flamenco show before heading with my family to do the New Years Eve countdown before fireworks exploded overhead in front of Seville’s townhall. These are just a few of the experiences that have enriched our lives and deepened my passion for travel. My goal is to be able to do the same for you and your travel companions.
