Hi! I’m Beth! I truly believe that experiencing new cultures is one of the most important reasons to travel. I have been a luxury travel advisor for almost 13 years now. Sending clients to beautiful destinations and experiencing the most delicious food is what keeps me going. Coming across new sights, sounds, smells, and tastes can make you understand things completely differently. I live in Rhode Island with my husband, Kevin and sweet rescue dog, Ulysses. When I’m not traveling, you can usually find me in the kitchen, at a winery with friends, or taking our dog for a walk. My hope is that you leave my space with a serious case of wanderlust and an ease of knowing Rhode to Travel can take care of all of your vacation needs!
My favorite trips will always be based on how good the food in that destination is. Of course, when delicious food comes to mind, most think of Italy right? Well, I also think Italy has some of the best food I have ever eaten! I remember a trip to Puglia, Italy a couple years ago. Puglia is known as the “heel” of Italy and is the southeastern tip of the country. It is know for its whitewashed hill towns, centuries-old farmland and miles and miles of Mediterranean coastline. The most impressive thing about Puglia, to me, is the FOOD. Because of the location of Puglia, they are known, throughout Europe, as being an agricultural mecca. The freshest veggies and sun ripened fruit are the norm. Puglia produces almost 25% of EUROPE’s olive oil so you better believe that crusty bread dipped in olive oil is the best thing I have ever eaten. Another Puglian masterpiece are their soft, stringy burrata and mozzarella. Combined with fresh pasta and bread, I think Puglia is a MUST for someone who wants to really dig into to the foodie scene in Italy. You can skip the more famous cities and still enjoy the most delicious food.
